Community Unity Project
Last year, we organized both online and in-person tutoring events for the immigrant community in Arizona. Looking ahead, we are shifting our focus towards social events and expanding our reach to New York and Arizona.
International Pen Pal (Friendship Without Borders)
Last year, we partnered with a Taiwanese elementary school to match Arizona and Taiwanese students for one-on-one pen pal letter exchanges. Students engaged in discussions about environmental conservation and home town ecology. Looking ahead, we plan to transition to a digital format, covering a wide range of topics related to CEST and expanding our reach across states and nations, including China and Taiwan.
Kilo a Ko'a (Coral Conservation Project)
Last year, we partnered with ReefTeach in Kahalu'u, Hawaii, to develop a website that allows the community to engage in citizen science by observing corals in Hawaii. We also hosted coral conservation awareness booths that promotes reef-safe sunscreen and safe tourism. Looking ahead, we aim to shift our focus towards creating educational materials and delivering them directly to local schools, while also expanding our partnerships.
